I love this!
Finely modelled monkey ring, carved from labradorite into a cheeky little face, with tiny sparkly diamond eyes.
Set into a gold bezel with ropetwist edging and very pretty floral shoulders.
After Darwin wrote The Origin Of The Species in 1859 the Victorians became fascinated by all flora and fauna, but especially our ancestors, the apes, and 10 years after it's publication monkey jewelry was all the rage.
