Ater graduating from the world famous Central St Martins with a Fashion Degree, I worked for 25 years as a Fashion Designer. I always had a love for antiques and around 2002 had a furniture store with a dear friend, selling mid century modern pieces, (as well as working as a designer at the same time on my computer from the store)! That was when I became hooked on auctions, antiques and buying and selling. Fast forward to 2012 and I bought my own store and started selling dog related antiques. The shop was and is Maison Dog. My Staffy Edie was my muse.
Niche as we were, we did quite well, featuring in The Financial Times, The Telegraph, ITV, Radio 4 and Downton Abbey. ( I only speak in the past here because Maison Dog the antiques are now solely online at and my bricks and mortar store now focuses on grooming )
The jewelry side of the dog antiques was always popular and eventually I started an Instagram page just for the jewelry, initially animal inspired jewelry aka @antiqueanimaljewelry. But very quickly I found my true love, 18th Century Jewelry. French, German, English. It all caught my attention, with animals or without.
So here I am.
