Really chunky and gorgeous Victorian snake pendant. Modelled in 15 carat yellow gold (please ignore my rather lemony images, sometimes my phone won't get the right gold colour but th first pic is quite accurate) he coils around himself in an elaborate S shape.
He has a very detailed face with diamond set, almond shaped eyes, a cute derpy face, and is holding a garnet cabochon drop in his mouth as well as having a pear shaped garnet on his head.
His scales are very well modelled.
In Victorian jewelry, the snake motif primarily symbolized eternal love, infinity, and a cyclical bond. It was also associated with wisdom, healing, and transformation. Queen Victoria's engagement ring, featuring a snake with an emerald-set head, further popularized this symbolism, making snake jewelry a defining trend of the era.
