Lovely large Victorian heart locket, modelled in 15 carat yellow gold, inlaid with a diamond horseshoe for luck (lucky in love)
The horseshoe is set with four old cut diamonds on one side, and three on the other side - to represent the seven nails of the horseshoe.
The top of the horseshoe is engraved with a foliate pattern in a slightly rosey gold, to make it stand out. There is a further old cut diamond in the centre.
the stones are about .05 carat each
 
The heart is quite flat, so sits very nicely on, and the hinges and opening are nearly invisible. the inside has two glass lockets to hold a picture on either side.
