Really unsual chunky 18 carat gold locket. As you can see it looks fabulous on the albert chain I have in this week
 
Shaped like an arch and plain front and back this piece looks modern and minimal, but open it up and you find an empty compartment, which maybe held either a tiny powder puff, or a piece of paper, because when you open the second compartment there is a tiny mirror. The mirror is discreetly curved somehow, do that when you look into the mirror, despite it being so tiny, you can see your whole face!  It's magic!
 
To the bottom the is a channel that holds a mini gold pencil, for marking your next dance partner on your dance card, then you look in the mirror and check you look great!
Nowadays I can imagine quite a different powder going in there, but that's a whole different story!
 
The top has a large 18 carat gold split ring fitted. 16mm diamenter
