Wonderful ultra mini snake pendant, the snake encircling the glass locket, his head actually over the glass. He is decorated with black cross hatch enamel so typical of this period, and has an open smiling mouth. The inside of the locket has brunette hair and wiggly gold ciphers. The solid gold back is engraved with ‘Dec 21st 1849’ - it could be mourning or it could be sentimental- a gift on winter solstice. Measures about 18mm diameter Weighs- 3g
