Valentine!
What a beautiful bracelet! Modelled in high carat gold (15 - 18 carat) the bracelet comprises six panels which are hinged and sprung so that the snake fits snugly around the wrist.
The gold is beautifully chased with the classic acanthus pattern, and he has ruby cabochon eyes and rosecut diamond eyebrows.
The really exciting part is his jaw which hinges open to reveal the monogram JGC and to the roof of the mouth a hair locket with brunette plaited hair.
This was probably an amatory piece, a lover's gift, rather than a mourning piece.
The simplicity of the design makes this a really easy piece to wear. Alone or stacked
