Gorgeous antique amethyst and turquoise earrings with snake tops modelled in high carat gold.
In thier mouths they hold a pair of pear shaped foiled amethysts, set into a canetille and filigree surround, with turquoise finials.
The reverse is finished with a gently domed gold back, embossed with gold dots.

The drops date to the Regency period, circa 1820. The snake tops have been added later and date to around 1870.
