Rare Victorian enamel egg pendant, infact I have never seen another, not even similar.
I think this is a Thrush egg but it could be a Mocking bird or a Blackbird?
The egg opens to reveal two glazed locket compartments, the bevelled glass pops out easily and someone suggested I should put a pearl inside because the hair looks rather like a nest. I didn't have a spare pearl knocking about so I put a tiny dendritic stone I had inside, just for fun and it can easily be removed.
The enamel is in fabulous condition.
