Above the banner is a gold five pointed star set with an old cut diamond. The back is engraved with a foliate pattern..
The locket hinges open and inside there are two spaces to add photographs, or you can add a lock of hair.
Modelled in 15 carat gold this lucky star charm is a highly collectible, antique piece of jewelry. This specific gold purity (62.5% pure gold) was primarily used in the UK between 1854 - 1932 before being replaced by the 14ct standard.
In the Victorian and Edwardian eras, star jewellery symbolised guidance, wisdom and hope.
