Rare Porte Bonheur Charm dated 1900.
 
The charm comprises two identical parts which swivel open. 
The top has enamelled a pig holding a letter dated 1900 with a four leaf clover and a mushroom.
The layer below is enamelled 'porte bonheur' with another four leaf clover.
 
When used together, porte-bonheur means lucky charm. Everything that you find on La Porte Bonheur was chosen specifically to be a porte (gateway or door) to bonheur (happiness, joy, pleasure, bliss, and delight).
 
Stamped 800 silver on both parts.
