Rare Regency/Early Victorian English 18 Carat Mourning Ring With Two Intertwined Snakes And Hair Detail.
Beautiful wide 18 carat gold band dated 1834 - so at least that old if not slightly earlier (inscription may have been written later) the two edges styled as two snakes who meet in the middle and intertwine. The snakes are etches with a scaly design and have tiny eyes and mouthes.
The centre panel has a plaited brunette panel of hair (which can be removed but would be a shame as this is so rare)
Inscription inside the band - 'Eleonor Douglas Norton Ob 8 Dec 1834'
Ring size - 6.5 and cannot be sized
Weighs - 3.6g
Band is 6mm wide
Immaculate condition
