Wonderful and rare mid 19th Century enamel snake ring in black and white enamel with emerald stone on the crown of the head, and an emerald charm drop hanging from his mouth, and tiny rubies for eyes.
The undulating snake zig zags arounf the finger nearly one and a half times. He is covered with a decorative flower pattern made from the black and white enamel, with gold showing through from beneath to create the third colour.
The snake is very chunky looking but it is hollow and not super heavy
The patterning and look of the snake is european, probably italian circa 1860-70
The ring is a size 7 - 7.5 and cannot be sized
