Exceptional rare french plaque ring circa 1780.

The watercolour depicts a pastoral scene of a family beneath a tree.

The colours are just so beautiful, I tried my best to catch the essence of the painting and it's colours but it looks far better in person.

The plaque curves to fit the finger, with the original curved and bevelled glass still intact.

Rosey yellow gold back and cigar band shank.

I havent tested the gold but I imagine it is 9 carat which was the typical gold used oven at this time because gold was in short supply during the French Revolution.
