Pair Of Boxed 18 Carat Gold Georgian Mourning Bands 1820
Rare set of mourning bands.
When someone died no doubt in a privileged family, it was the custom to apportion a certain amount of the estate
money for the making of mourning rings for all the family, to be worn for a fixed period of time.

It is unusual to see two of a set still together, in their original boxes. Probably two brothers.

The gold is quite a rosey gold
