Highly sought after, a lovely pair of ouroboros snake earrings.

 

This pair dates to the the second half of the 19th century, modelled in a rosey gold with Russian hallmarks for 14 carat gold.

These were made around 1847-1898; and their curly stylised design represents that friendly duck face look without being super literal. 

 

Measures - 19mm x 17.5mm

The ear wires are a slightly thicker gauge than a modern standard 20g, closer to 18g. 

Weighs - 2.9 g

Condition - excellent antique condition (light oxidation)

The catches are secure and the hinges are stable
