Georgian Turquoise And Diamond Crowned Heart Locket Ring - Mourning Ring

Lovely crowned heart Georgian Locket Ring, a pear/heart sized turquoise set in a gold bezel, that opens to reveal a glazed hair panel inside. The heart is crowned with four old cut diamonds set in silver (one looks to be a replacement)

The simple 18 carat gold band has a split shoulder detail. The band looks to be original to the ring and is hallmarked with the makers mark GB, the leopard head for London and a crown but there is no year mark. All the hallmarks are significantly worn down.

The heart hinges on the right and opens to reveal a glazed hair panel measuring 6mm x 8mm approx.
