Charming Georgian Ouroboros Locket.
The centre an oval faceted citrine, foiled and mounted in a gold cut down setting in a frame modelled as a serpent eating his own tail, set with graduated pearls in a soft grey, the head with creamy seed pearls and with a tiny ruby for his eye.
The back has a glass locket which hinges open. The hair has been removed and has been replaced with a piece of purple silk.
The tapered bail is set with three graduated pearls and is likely a later addition.
