Lovely sentimental sepia circa 1780, depicting a maiden holding a dove. Do you think the dove represents the soul of her child or husband? There is no inscription to reverse. Modelled in 15 carat gold with white and blue enamel surround, and under the glass a plaited border. The piece can be worn as a brooch or pendant. Measures 39mm long.
