I created these wonderful Figa earrings from a double-needle stick pin brooch connected with a small and delicate chain called an Inseparable.
Inseparables came into use around 1835.
Although it is sad in a way to repurpose the stickpins they make the best quirky earrings ever! Mismatching yet matching, these now earrings have a mixure of amulets, mano cornutos, fish, and one with the cutest gold mouse ontop.
Modelled in 18 carat gold and coral with small turquoise stones on the hands.
In jewelry, a mouse motif represents wit, clever problem-solving, and an ability to navigate life's obstacles with agility.
The Mano cornuta, or 'horned hand' amulets are thought to be of ancient Italian origin and are worn as protection against the harmful glance of the Evil Eye
