Stunning Antique Gold And Sapphire Snake Chain Extender.
Formerly a brooch, the snake writhing around forms a long and narrow shape with loops either end that I was able to attach two diamond set silver rings so that this piece can be clipped onto any chain.
 
The snake's head is very pretty, the crown of it set with a cushion shaped no heat sapphire, his eyes set with rubies. His open mouthed smile reveals his forked tongue.
 
His body is decorated with fine rope twist gold, laid on to form scales and patterns on his head. 
 
The gold has that beautiful bloom that is created with a mercury gild. An art now lost.
 
Look how beautiful he is worn with either a gold or silver chain!
