Decorative early Victorian mourning ring 1836
The ring decorated with gold gothic letters spelling IN MEMORY OF , each letter inside a triangular black enamelled segment. The edges of the ring chased in a heavy foliate pattern typical of this period. 
The ring is fully hallmarked for London 1836, 18 Carat 
And is engraved ‘ J Chaplin died 5 April  1837 aged 52’ 
The ring is a size 6.5 - 6.75
It is 9.5mm wide 
It weighs 4.4g 
In very good condition, some wear to the gold borders.
