Fabulous large Bog Oak pendant from Ireland circa 1850, the bog oak pressed into six patterned flower shapes to form the cross, set with a foiled central dome of glass (which as you can see are very sparkly) and edge with rope twist wire work. The chain is formed from pressed patterned mounds of bog oak, alternating with circles of foiled glass. The clasp is made of the same but has been extended either side with gold chain to make the necklace longer. Highly collectible and rare!
Cross 86mm x 65mm ,
individual flowers 11.5mm diameter ,
