Beautiful pave set turquoise set St. Esprit the bird modelled in the classic form diving-to-earth, viewed from above flying with wings outspread, head and neck pointing downward and suspending a pave set turquoise heart in its beak.
It's eyes are set with a pair of faceted rubies, the heart set with a diamond centred star.
The back of the dove is gold, beautifully engraved with feathers.
Popular in the late eighteenth century as a religious icon. These were particularly popular in France. However, the early Victorians favoured them as sentimental jewels as well.
