Just in time for Halloween!
A really cool, large silver beetle, his abdomen made from carved garnet, with two rosecut diamonds for his compound eyes and also tiny garnet eyes (not sure what they are lol) , his mandibles holding a garnet ball. 
The silver underside is realistically modelled.
 
In European religious culture, the stag beetle is a symbol of the triumph of good over evil, similar to the scarab. In Christian painting, the stag beetle represents Christ as the victor over evil.
