Really cool antique paperclip link chain comprising long 'paperclip' style links, alternating between three round links.
Every link is hallmarked for 9 carat gold.
The T- Bar bears the makers mark 'WHW Ld'
Known for their high quality chains and watch bracelets, W H Wilmot were a jewelry manufacturers operating in the heart of the Jewelry Quarter, Birmingham.
Based in Albion Street and founded in 1860, W H Wilmot created a great deal of Albert chains in 9 and 18 carat gold, complete with dog clips, T-bar attachments and bolts.
Attached to one of the two dog clips (I added it) is a large patented bolt that swivels open. It is stamped with the patent no 'PAT. 344178' and 'JG & S 9 carat'
The bolt is 23mm diameter
The chain weighs - 29.5g
It is 18.5" long including bolt - and 17" without bolt
paperclip links are 23mm x 5.2mm
T - Bar - 40mm long
dogclips are 22.3mm long
