Look how cool this is!
A Bullet shaped Victorian Stamp Holder pendant made from 9 carat gold.
Back in the day this would have held a roll of stamps that you insert by lining up the gold dot with the slot on the two rings on the base to remove the cover. Then you feed the stamps into the inner slot and wind the stamps around, put the cover back on, twist it shut, and feed the stamps through the outer slot so you can tear them off, one by one.
Nowadays we don’t write so many letters and so our need for stamps on a spool is limited… but you can wind anything onto it.
