Highly collectible Souvenir hinged Bangle. 
Made from 18 carat gold in a very simple flat style that is very elegant and modern looking. 
The word 'Souvenir' is enamelled onto the top panel in a navy serif font, the S set in a red enamelled gothic looking panel and set with tiny diamonds. A vine green leaves and red berries runs through the lettering, curling at either end.
 
The edges of the bangle are decorated with a plaited wheatsheaf type of pattern.
 
The bangle hinges open and has a concealed box clasp, stamped with french marks, that clicks tightly shut.
 
This bracelet was purported to be given by Karl Lagerfeld in 1992 to Armelle de Bascher, the mother of his lifelong companion, Jacques de Bascher who had recently passed.
The word Souvenir which means 'a memory, or remembrance' (and not a snow globe from a holiday resort) served to honour the memory of Jacques.
 
Now I remember these coming up for sale, there were two, and one had the above inscription inside, and had diamond letters and an angel.
The other (this one) had no inscription, but was sold in the same auction. the lot before or after the other one.
