The birds perch on oval loops, their beaks pointing upwards to the balls and the bail fixtures.
The tortoiseshell birds are inlaid with gold and silver work on their wings and tails, and are in pristine condition with no losses to the goldwork.
 
The earrings have ball tops inlaid with a gold flower and silver shepherds hooks
