Really cool Augis Qu' Hier Que Demain Dog Tag Charm
Probably designed for men to wear back in the 1990's as it is designed as a 'dog tag' as worn by the military, although this design is more stylised with an oversized hole for the bail.
The tag bears the iconic “Plus qu’hier, moins que demain” rebus — meaning “More than yesterday, less than tomorrow.”
The phrase, taken from a poem written in 1889 by Rosemonde Gérard to her husband Edmond Rostand (author of Cyrano de Bergerac), has come to symbolise enduring and ever-growing love.
The word “plus” is represented by a diamond-set plus sign
and “moins” by a Ruby-set minus sign, a clever and romantic visual pun.
Marked A.A for Augis and hallmarked either side of the bail with an Eagles head to the left for 18 carat gold and the Makers Mark of Augis to the right.
weighs - 3.72g
measures - 11mm x 24mm
