Very pretty Victorian 15 Carat padlock.
The oval shaped body with circular cutouts, north, south, east and west. The front claw set with a long oval garnet cabochon stone the colour of plum jam, and edged with four gold balls and four scrolls.
The back has a hair locket panel (I have removed the hair and added a piece of dark green velvet)
All of the gold, front and back, apart from the closure, is finely chased with a foliate pattern.
The gold is a lovely buttercup yellow.
