Georgian High Carat Chased Gold Band With Opening Windows To Reveal Hair Circa 1820 Lovely substantial George III era gold ring with orate engraving and 6 seed shaped 'windows' with 'shutters' made from gold, basically an inner rotating layer, that can be opened by sliding a tiny knob (see photo 1, centre of ring) over into a little notch, to reveal hair. A lovely private way to grieve, or even perhaps look at a lover's hair. Size - 8.5 and cannot be sized weight - 6.2g measures - 5.3mm wide condition - immaculate tests as 18 carat
