Wonderful large Victorian snake locket,
A really smashing yellow gold, fat snake coils around the glass locket, acting as a frame. He coils around himself at the top in a pleasing manner. 
His scales are finely engraved and his face is cute and happy, with little bulbous eyes.
 
The double sided glass locket at the centre is hinged at the top and bottom and spins around. Originally this was a brooch and it had hair on one side and a portrait/photo on the other, and you could turn it round to suit your mood.
 
I have converted it into a pendant, ready for you to put what ever you like in the middle. The centre is about 9mm deep so it works really well being filled with loose gemstones. I had a similar one a few years ago and I filled it with opals and it looked fabulous. If I can find a pic I will add it to the gallery here at the end.

condition, small ding just above his right eye, otherwise really good antique condition (jump ring could be bigger)
 
note - you will need to get a jeweller or my jeweller to put something inside as it does not look like the glass opens easily.
