Stunning French Bracelet. The central panel is made up of a blue guilloche enamel plaque, with the word 'D' Amitie' crafted in silver and applied with tiny rose cut diamonds, which in english translates as 'Friendship.'
The plaque surround is set with a border of seed pearls, and the whole plaque is mounted onto fancy goldwork that is handpainted with black and white 'swiss' enamel , with accents of the high carat gold forming the third colour.
The strap comprises two rows of 0 shaped links, each link finely painted with flowers and leaves.
Swiss enamel work became popular during the 19th century, particularly among tourists visiting Switzerland, but it was also popular in france.
The swiss pieces most often featured scenes or figures from swiss culture, but romantic pieces such as this were probably commissioned by french jewelry houses.
